Mercedes-Benz has teased the new-generation CLS ahead of its debut at the 2017 Los Angeles Auto show that will be held later this month. The new Mercedes-Benz CLS four-door coupe is based on the new MRA (Modular Rear Architecture) platform, the same platform on which the E-Class is based. It will also share its design and features with the E-Class and the S-Class coupe models. The teaser image showcases the CLS-Class front fascia that boasts of new L- or boomerang-shaped LED DRLs (Daytime Running Lamps), diamond-pattern chrome finished front grille with the Mercedes-Benz’s logo positioned at the centre and redesigned front bumper.
The German car manufacturer has also equipped the new Mercedes-Benz CLS coupe with new alloy wheels, revised ORVMs (Outside Rear View Mirrors) with turn indicator, new LED tail lamps and larger front and rear overhangs. The cabin, on the other hand, will also get a host of updates in the form of new technologies and design and is expected to feature Mercedes-Benz’s Mbrace connectivity suite.
Powering the new Mercedes-Benz CLS is likely to be a new 3.0 litre inline six-cylinder petrol engine that will develop 367 hp of power. In addition, there will be a four-cylinder turbocharged unit that will use a 48-volt EQ-Power mild-hybrid system that will reduce fuel consumption.The next-generation Mercedes-Benz CLS coupe is expected to be unveiled on the first day of the 2017 LA Auto Show, i.e; 27th November.
