Commuters beware as disruptions along Ireland's major train route announced

Engineering works will see disruptions to Limerick customers

IRISH Rail have announced some service disruptions on one of the country's major train routes this weekend.

Due to engineering works between Limerick Junction and Charleville on Saturday, May 11, it is said that Limerick services will operate every two hours, connecting to and from all Cork services at Limerick Junction.

Other alterations to train services due to engineering works this Saturday include:  

  • Cork services to operate every two hours in each direction with altered timings.
  • Tralee services to operate every two hours, connecting to and from Cork services at Mallow.
  • 17:05hrs Dublin Heuston to Tralee is cancelled. Passengers should board the 17:05 Dublin Heuston to Cork service and change at Mallow for a connecting service. There will be a delay of 25 - 30 mins from Mallow to Tralee.
  • Nenagh Line services to operate with altered timings, change at Ballybrophy for connecting services.  

A spokesperson for Irish Rail has said: "Customers wishing to travel by rail need to book their tickets online as services will be extremely busy and priority will be given to customers who book their tickets online."
